Features and Advantages of KGG Miniature Ball Screws

The precision ball screw drive system is a rolling screw drive system with balls as the rolling medium. According to the transmission form, it is divided into converting rotary motion into linear motion; converting linear motion into rotary motion.

Miniature Ball Screw Features:

1. High Mechanical Efficiency

The KGG ball screw inserts steel balls between the screw shaft and the nut to form a rolling contact, making the mechanical efficiency as high as more than 90%, while the required torque is less than 1/3 of the traditional feed screw. In addition, linear motion can be easily converted into rotary motion (reverse motion).

2. Axial Clearance

For traditional triangular screw and trapezoidal screw,if the axial clearance is reduced, the rotational torque will increase due to sliding friction. KGG ball screws turn very lightly even with axial play eliminated. In addition, the rigidity can be further improved by adopting double nuts.

3. High Precision

KGG ball screw is processed and assembled under constant temperature control, using ultra-precision feed screw and thread gauge processing technology, and has undergone strict inspection. It has high precision and high reliability in accurate positioning.

4. Long Life

KGG Ball Screws are machined from appropriate materials that have been heat-treated, and because of rolling contact motion, there is very little frictional resistance, almost no wear, and high precision can be maintained for a long time.

Miniature Ball Screw has the Following Advantages:

1. Smooth Movement

The ball screw transmission system is a point contact rolling motion, with small frictional resistance during work, high sensitivity, no vibration when starting, and no crawling phenomenon at low speed, so it can precisely control micro-feeding.

2. High Transmission Efficiency

The transmission efficiency of the ball screw transmission system is as high as 90%~98%, which is 2~4 times that of the traditional sliding screw system.

3. High Precision and Good Synchronization

The temperature rise of the ball screw transmission system is small during motion, and it can be pre-tightened to eliminate the axial gap and pre-stretch the screw to compensate for thermal elongation, so high positioning accuracy and repeat positioning accuracy can be obtained.

4. High Durability

The rolling contact parts of the steel balls are all hardened (HRC58~63) and precision ground, and the circulation system process is purely rolling.

5. High Reliability

Compared with other transmission machinery and hydraulic transmission, the failure rate of the ball screw transmission system is very low, and the maintenance of the ball screw is relatively simple, only general lubrication and dust prevention are required. It can work without lubrication in special occasions.

6. No Backlash and High Rigidity

The ball screw transmission system adopts the Gothic arch groove shape, so that the steel ball and the groove can reach the best contact for easy operation. If proper preload is added to eliminate the axial clearance, the balls will have better rigidity, and the elastic deformation between the ball screw nut and the screw can be reduced to achieve higher precision.
